We seek to engage in research that uncovers the influence of adversity and structural influences, like racism on adolescent health. We seek to illuminate the public and social policies that disproportionately impact children and families of color to bring about societal change.
Simply, our objective is to make the relationship between hardship and health clear to develop and identify strategies that empower and eliminate obstacles in the way of optimal health and wellbeing of adolescents and their families.
Our desire is that our work will go beyond the scientific community and benefit adolescents and their respective communities.

This study will explore how community engagement and/or life skills development may impact mental and physical health.
We want teenagers all over Chicago to be able to engage in tools that are thought to reduce stress and help them cope with challenging experiences.
