Activism and Adulting Study

Are you or someone you know a Black or Latinx teen 15-20 years old?

This study will explore how activism and life skills development may impact mental and physical health.

Participants will be placed randomly in one of two groups. There will be an initial week long summer immersion experience, followed by monthly interactive, peer group meetings and periodic health assessments.

  • Group 1 will complete a program that teaches teens activism skills to address social injustices that they care about.

  • Group 2 will complete a program that teaches adult life skills, including meal prep, financial literacy, and career preparation.

By participating, you’ll have the chance to gain valuable skills, contribute to groundbreaking research, and be part of creating a healthier, more equitable future for your community.
